Health Care Alternative From A Texan
Austin’s own John Mackey (CEO of Whole Foods), wrote this phenomenal piece which appeared in the Wall Street Journal. It’s important to note that the tone of this column is very passive and simply outlines rational suggestions on things we can fix right now. However, this article was met with very hostile reception but many liberal whole food customers across the country. In New York there were protests outside and inside of stores. I suspect many liberals never got past the headline which simply says, “alternative to Obamacare.” His arguments are pretty tough to debate — it’s hard to say that restricting people’s options for health insurance on a state by state basis is good for the patient, and good for the doctor.
It’s a must read, and probably the best editorial of 2009 in the main stream media.
